FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

Everything you need to know about early allergen introduction and Ready. Set. Food! products.

Getting Started
When should I start Ready. Set. Food!?

You can start as early as 4 months of age, which is the safest and most effective time to begin allergen introduction. Medical guidelines from the AAP, NIH, and USDA all recommend starting between 4–6 months.

Do I need to consult my pediatrician first?

We always encourage you to consult with your pediatrician. However, you should feel comfortable introducing Ready. Set. Food! to your baby, even with an intolerance to one of the top 3 allergens. We use very small amounts — equivalent to less than 1 teaspoon of yogurt, 1/8th teaspoon of peanut butter, and 1/250th of a cooked egg.

What’s the difference between Stage 1, 2, and 3?

Stage 1 introduces one allergen at a time (peanut first). Stage 2 maintains exposure to peanut, egg, and milk together. Stage 3 expands to all 9 top allergens including tree nuts, sesame, soy, and wheat.

How long should I use Ready. Set. Food!?

We recommend at least 6 months of daily exposure, or until your baby is regularly eating allergenic foods as part of their everyday diet. Research shows continued regular consumption maintains tolerance.

Safety & Allergies
What are common symptoms of an allergic reaction?

If you think your baby is having an allergic reaction, discontinue feeding the allergenic foods and contact your pediatrician. Common symptoms may include hives, swelling around the lips, vomiting, or in rare cases, difficulty breathing.

What if my baby has eczema?

Babies with eczema are actually at higher risk for food allergies, making early introduction even more important. Clinical studies specifically included babies with eczema and showed significant allergy risk reduction.

What if my baby already has a confirmed food allergy?

Our product is not to be used to treat existing food allergies. If your baby has a confirmed milk or egg allergy, we offer dairy-free and egg-free options. Please consult your pediatrician.
